THE REBELs JUST GET BETTER & BETTER

Higher Blackley Rebels has THREE teams in their respective league`s Cup Finals

The u9s in their first ever season has reached the City of Salford Cup final at Ayrshire Road Salford May 21st  also the u11s have reached the Northbury JFL Cup Final on April 16th as has the u13s who also play in the Northbury JFL on May 14th 

I would like to say how extremly proud we are of all the teams throught the club not just the Cup Finalists and  with the potential of every player who have made rapid progress within our 2year exsistence  They are a credit to their Parents and with the managers and parents working together its only a matter of time before every age group will be competing for honours in all the Leagues they play in UP THE REBELs  the REBELUTION is here

 SPONSORED WALK

Ian ,Mark, Paul, Pete, Waz of the REBELS are going on a  50 mile sponsored walk Sunday 10th october starting at 5 .30 am from  Blackpool Football Club  calling at Preston North End , Bolton Wanderers Football Club and finally arriving (fingers crossed) at Gigg Lane home of Bury FC in aid of The Blackley Disabled Youth Club & Higher Blackley Rebels the walk will take approximately 16 and half hours (wow thats 2 sleeps haha) please show your support by sponsoring the lads on this  remarkable event as you have done so often before. We will be at training this week with the sponsor forms so please get behind the lads and give what you can thank you……..   THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN……..

Ian , Pete , Mark , Paul & Waz have completed a very very gruelling 50.7 mile walk .These lads set out at 2.30 am sunday morning from Blackpool FC and travelled to Preston North End FC, Bolton Wanderers FC & Bury FC before finally arriving  some 16 hours later at St Clares in Blackley They showed tremendous determination and endurance to complete this task in Mark`s case with a broken foot and along with Ian suffered really badly with burst blisters on their feet resulting in Pete Paul & Waz encouraging and aiding them every step of the way and they all  stuck to the task in hand without a single thank you or acknowledgement from any of these so called family clubs but the REBELs are a family club and i`m sure that you will all congratulate them all for a really fantastic acheivement and continue to sponsor them and the REBELs in any future events These men totally deserve medals for what they went through in aid of the less fortunate children of Blackley and also for the future of the children of the REBELution  THANK YOU

 Saturday Teams 100% start to the New Season

CONGRATULATIONS to the Under 8s , 11s , 13s Rebels , & 13s Rogues who all faced difficult games but eventually overcame the opposition too win in some cases by the odd goal except the under 8s who won emphatically 10 – 5 away match reports to follow

 SUPER SATURDAY !!!!! The Run goes on

Saturday 25th September proved to be a brilliant one for the REBELs with all the saturday teams winning convincingly starting with the MINNIE MEEs  who banged in nine goals bringing there goal tally in three games to 25 .The under 9s won there first ever home game 3 – 2 the under 10s march on with a 5 - 0 drubbing  under 11s smashing in 10 the under 13s REBELs  banging in 9 and the ROGUEs hammering in 8 bringing the total goals for the REBELs on SUPER SATURDAY  44 scored and 6 conceeded    BRILLIANT…( Pat )

Higher Blackley Rebels are holding a HALLOWEEN / RACE NIGHT( Fancy Dress Optional) Club Fundraiser on Saturday 30th October at St Clares Social Club Victoria Avenue Blackley tickets are £1.00 per person and prizes will be given to best Fancy Dress.  Anybody interested in Sponsoring a race for £10.00 let ur manager know please

OH WHAT A WEEK !!!!!!!!

Higher Blackley Rebels enjoyed a brilliant week for the club with the u13s Rebels reaching the final of the main cup followed by the u9s Rebels reaching the semi final of their League Cup in their very first season as a team and then the all conquering u11s who have virtually secured the league title by beating their closest who had been previously unbeaten in the league rivals Walshaw Park home and away and followed that up by reaching the semi final of the Subsidiary Cup WELL DONE to all our teams keep it up guys

Higher Blackley Rebels Proudly presented the first Club Presentation Night on Friday 6th August at The Heaton Park Social Club  315 Bury Old Road Prestwich

And it proved to be a very good night indeed with the partying going on until after midnight

CONGRATULATIONS  to all our players who have helped make it a fantastic first season and we are really looking forward to more of the same in the 2010/11 season       COME ON THE REBELS!!!!!!!!!

Last but not least….. my wife Bernie McDonagh who has had to put up with my mood swings and tantrums and has been the driving force behind me when i was contemplating resigning on numerous occasions she has made the REBELS what we are today THANK YOU
